Mintoumba is a traditional Bassa folk cake made from freshly fermented cassava and red palm oil.
Mintoumba is a fermented cassava paste that is crushed and mixed with red palm oil, salt and some spices, depending on your taste. The dough is then wrapped in maranthacées sheets and then steamed.
It is then steamed to serve as a side dish for a sauce or as a snack.
This local caviar has a special taste and its yellow color is reminiscent of gold. Much appreciated, it is the pride of Cameroonian gastronomy.
